Mingara’s Pat Maat started the scoring with a home run in the first innings and by the 3rd innings Mingara Rebels had added 9 more runs to hold a 10 to nil lead. Indians managed 3 runs in the 4th innings to threaten however Joel Hudson replaced Kurt Eden on the mound and pitched 5 strong innings, allowing just 3 hits and no runs while striking out 9 batters to see Rebels home.

 

For Indians Matt Spinelli and Michael D’Abo recorded two hits apiece and Rebels had Pat Maat, Todd Bowden, Kurt Eden, Anthony Voss and Paul Woolven all recording 2 or more hits for the game. Jeremy Morris went 3 1/3 innings for Indians, giving up 9 hits with one stike out while Rod Whitely threw 5 2/3 innings for 7 hits and 6 strike outs.

 

Kurt Eden started for Mingara Rebels, pitching 4 innings for 4 hits before handing over to Joel Hudson. Mingara Rebels meet the Wyong Wildcats in next week’s 1st grade grand final.

In 2nd grade Indians will meet Mingara Rebels, the 3rd grade clash is Indians against Wildcats while Indians and Pirates meet in the 4th grade and Rebels and Wooducks in the 5th grade deciders.

 

Games start at 8 am at Baseball Park Springfield with the 1st grade game scheduled to start at 3-10pm.
